Gun-free Businesses

Post by KLB »

I'm well aware was have our own map, and I think that's better than what's at the link. Still, at times, it may be useful to have another source of information. I was surprised to run across this page, which list gun-ban-related information:

If you read the comments, this page was designed to inform people who are not wanting to be around guns to know which places prevent legal carry so they can know which are the "gun free zones". I'm tempted to start replacing the term "gun free zone" with "good guy free zone"...because only good guys follow the law.

I wrote in, thanking them for letting me know, which businesses, are notifying criminals, that their employees, and customers, have been disarmed for their convienience. I also thanked, them for saving me the time and trouble, of driving somewhere, only to find out, that they do not want the 2 million, most law abiding citizens, to patronize their establishments.
I wonder if they will respond? :biggrinjester:

What is the actual point? The site does not appear to have been updated since 2016. Including the now 6 participants on this thread, it appears the site has a reach of about 100 people.

I just hate for any public service site to be abandoned. :smilelol5:

I did notice that, there are several businesses, listed, that are not actually prohibiting carry. I think some of them were probably contacted, amid the hysteria, of the passage of OC, and may have given information, that was not accurate. I have been to several of the listed restaraunts, OC, and nothing was said. But as I have always said, it don't really stink till you stir it. :biggrinjester:

While at it's core, these 2 sites serve the same purpose. However they have polar opposite motivations and target audiences. Texas3006.com is to inform licensees where they are not able to carry concealed, open, or both. The site posted above is to inform hoplophobes where they can shop and not worry about good guys with a gun.

Just an update I have received no response. Which is odd, because, I get updates and notifications all the time from 30.06.com. :headscratch

Maybe they are just too backlogged to get one out yet. :evil2:

www.texas3006.com: The target audience is confident men and women who carry.

The other site: The target audience is virtue-signalling snowflakes who would soil their Birkenstocks if they knew a gun might be nearby. :-)
