Taurus is offering a $30 rebate on their G2c purchased between 3/28 and 5/31/19. They are pretty nice guns.

They are. Wife had the G2 millineum and that thing never had One malfunction or gave us any problems. Sold it to buy a Springfield and call me crazy but I preferred the Taurus over the Springfield I had.

Some years ago, Taurus had a hit or miss quality problem. My understanding now is that there's a new sheriff in town, leadership wise, and that higher quality was to be made a top priority.
While at the Sweetwater gun show recently, I spoke with a mature gent who was an FFL. Although he can carry anything, being a dealer, he carries a Taurus G2 (the 12 + 1 nine MM fullsize), has put thousands of rounds through it, and has had no issues.
Taurus' home base is Brazil. Their US office is Miami, Florida where some of their handguns are now made. But sometime in the future they will be moving everything from Miami to Bainbridge, Georgia, where they will have plenty of manufacturing capacity, using state of the art tools, in a plant that is purpose built for arms production.
I'd say things are looking up for Taurus.
