Pistol found

Post by clarionite »

Last year I was going through a breakup with a live in girlfriend. About a week before she was supposed to take possession of her new apartment, my Sig P239 came up missing from my truck. I had locked everything up, and would lock my EDC in the truck at night because I was afraid of her taking things that didn't belong to her. I noticed it missing when I got in the truck, so I filed a report and texted her that it was missing and I had filed a police report on it. She adamantly denied having anything to do with it. The day she was moving her things out, about 7K worth of camera gear suddenly disappeared. I again called the police, they came and took a statement and supervised the rest of her time moving out.

This happened around the first of October. My brother has been staying with me, and on Friday he changed the sheets in the guest room. He found the pistol under the mattress in the middle of the queen sized bed. We found the camera gear under the bed. My only guess is that finding them missing so fast, and reporting them so selling wasn't an option for her, she decided to hide them in the guest room.

Maybe her plan was to come back later for them and was thwarted.

Glad you found everything finally. Make sure you notify the police that they were found. The pistol, especially if you gave them the serial number, is entered into NCIC/TCIC computers as being lost and it could cause you some trouble if you are ever run with it.

Glad she is gone. Choose wisely.
Gun control is like stopping drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to drive.

That was the first thing I did. I went by the PD and made sure they knew I had it back.

Me too. And I’ll try. Sometimes the full level of someone’s crazy doesn’t come out till you’ve lived with them for a while. I don’t plan on moving anyone else in for a long while.

Got her number still? Got an ex-brother-in-law I'd like to introduce her to right now.

Maybe they were made for each other.
