Still have and carry the M&P Gen. 1 9C. New generation, but same gun. I don't see much news here, other than S&W trying to capitalize on the market for guns in the 10 - 12 round magazine capacity. To me, S&W missed the mark... the competition (SIG P365 and the new Springfield gun) are significantly slimmer, which clearly is a help with concealed carry. If S&W released a re-engineered Shield that allows for a real double-stack magazine and maintains the slimness, THAT would be something new.

:iagree: After I posted this I saw the Gen1 9C and realized the "new" subcompact was basically the same gun.
S&W had perfect opportunity when they came out with the Performance Center 4" barrel Shield to do something more innovative like increase magazine capacity. An extended 10 round magazine wouldn't have been that much longer.

You are right, TAM. Just like the Glock, except the M&P is a real pistol for real men. :biggrinjester: :reddevil

...real men who don't own 1911's in .45ACP. :biggrinjester: Guilty as charged....although I did see a couple of S&W Performance Center 1911's at the NRA Expo that called out to me.

I'm so confused. I have Glocks and a Colt 1911 and carry either of them depending on circumstances.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.
