My new toy Kel-Teck p-11

Post by Longtooths »

First weapon I have purchased from an individual and had shipped to an FFL. very enjoyable experience and one I will not hesitate to repeat.

“feed ramp and trigger bar polished, trigger shoe added, slide "melted" (dehorned), and slide/barrel ported. Holds 10 rounds of 9mm. ~Doc S

“The porting reduced recoil to that of maybe a .32 It's very controllable and helps to keep group size down... ~Doc S

that's not a 1911!

LT, aren't you the "Make mine a 1911" guy?
Very nice gun. The finish on your slide is better than any Keltec I've seen. I have a P3AT in that color combination.

I like those P11s. I'm on my third so far. With a mag extension and a trigger shoe, nothing fits my hand better.
I just swapped my all-black one for a Navy blue grip/hard chrome slide model. Very nice. I'm going to be swapping out my P32 and P3AT for that combo also as I find them.

Enjoy your new toy :cheers2:

Yes Rex B 1911s are my favorite platform
What folks must do now is recognize that I have been on the board here since shortly after it started.
A month ago the above gentleman registered as plural by only adding an "s" to my screen name.

Thanks for pointing that out, I had not noticed.

As for 1911s vs KTs, I have 3 of each.

Definitely pass on info about who did the work on it if you don't mind.
I'd like mine to look that way.
Thanks!

So far I've managed to notice, but one of you needs to put something iconic in your signature line. ;-)

Is it louder than normal when you shoot it (because of the porting)?
The last train out of any station will not be filled with nice people.

Remember Newton and Azrak.

Yes it is much louder than my pt111. I shot the P11 at the ranch this last weekend without ear protection.....two rounds was enough to convince me not to do that again any time soon.

Both the porting and the melting were done by the individual that I purchased the pistol from. You can contact him over on glocktalk.com

Here is a direct link to the post where I bought the pistol:

For what it's worth, I have two KelTec P11s. I carried one and my wife liked it so I bought her one. I've shot it a good bit, not as much as my Glocks but enough to keep me comfortable with it. Never had a bit of trouble with it. I just bought a KelTec PF9 last Friday so I'll be carrying it from now on. It's a single stack so it's thinner than the P11 and fits in my waistband a lot better.

I have the PF9 also with X2-laser and light combo. I keep it in the nightstand for uninvited guests at night. Never had a problem out of either pistol.
