Beautiful weekend weather forecasted for DFW - who wants to shoot?

This weekend won't be as warm and sunny, but still a nice weekend. Any shooters going out in DFW?
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

Dallas Pistol Club:
Tomorrow at 9:00 AM. Personal Protection Match (single stack friendly, that means there are mandatory reloads). You can shoot revolver or Double stack too.
Sunday, at 9:00 AM. Tactical Shotgun Match. This time, BirdShots, BB Shots, and 5-7 slugs are all needed. '
Infor: http://www.dallaspistolclub.com
The shotgun match is on for Sunday Oct.,9, 2016.
Master Billy Hobbs has assured me this one will take the grand prize for fun. Billy gave me an overview of what's happening and it might be one of the most fun shotgun matches we've had.
You will need your regular shot shells in addition to at least 20+ buckshot rounds as well as the obligatory slugs.
I have attempted to set up the match in PS so go there and register.
I may have missed something so if it looks weird in an hour or so let me know and I'll do my best to fix it.
Please try to help us set up since this will be a target rich environment and we are using the 100 meter bay this week.

Re: Beautiful weekend weather forecasted for DFW - who wants to shoot?
On Sunday's tactical shotgun match, we had a record number of shooter. We did 4 stages and the last stage was optional and was not scored. Why? it was dropped because you had to run all stages 1-4 (less the LR 60 yards slug and BB shots) By my count, minimum rd count for stage 5 was like at least 32 rds or so. Good luck loading so many rd in short time while doing the 4 stages in 1.
My Vepr run almost 95% reliably with few failures to eject. and I was shooting a bit high, thus, I added: Ecotech clone and I ordered a 25 rds drum. (it is on backorder now). Another cool factor. I still have one problem to solve. Vepr pattern too wide at 15 yrds or so rendering knocking off large steel poppers tough. Solution?

Most likely, I will order a full choke for the Vepr and used at the matches. Then, reinstall the Muzzle brake latervat home

You should not need, or want a full choke for tactical shotgun IMHO. What size pellets were you using, was it high brass or low brass, have you considered / tried magnum loads?Beiruty wrote:Most likely, I will order a full choke for the Vepr and used at the matches. I am shooting number 6 and mix between high brass and regular brass, At DPC we are limited to #6 Lead unless we are shooting BB or Slugs at LR (more than 50 yards)Bitter Clinger wrote:You should not need, or want a full choke for tactical shotgun IMHO. I have Magnum, military Buck Shots and Rem Slugs

Re: Beautiful weekend weather forecasted for DFW - who wants to shoot?
Understood. Likely the brake is simply "open choke"? My concern would be slugs through full choke. I might try modified or improved first as a reasonable compromise.Beiruty wrote:I am shooting number 6 and mix between high brass and regular brass, At DPC we are limited to #6 Lead unless we are shooting BB or Slugs at LR (more than 50 yards)Bitter Clinger wrote:You should not need, or want a full choke for tactical shotgun IMHO.
