This morning my weather app says it's 12* here, with a wind chill of 2*!!
Wow, you've got it tough! Here at my house this morning, it was a balmy 14º, with a wind chill of 5º. But not to worry......it's going to rocket all the way up into the high 20s today. That's T-shirt weather in Nome, Alaska; so that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Personally I WILL be wearing a T-shirt..........underneath everything else........
Going to make it to 30* here today :P

When I was stationed at Cape Lisburne, Alaska, we went outside in T-shirts and tossed Frisbees around when the temp got up to 0°. Of course at that point we had 0% humidity, which has a dramatic effect on how cold it feels.

The temp has rocketed up to a balmy 26° over here in the Pineywoods. Tam, how's your RV? Don't let the pipes freeze if they've got water in them. I set the furnace on lowest setting and open all cabinet doors and the faucets.

Yes, I spent every winter of the late 70's - '90's on the North Slope of Alaska (Prudhoe Bay) working in 40+ below. When it warmed to 0, we did in fact go out of the hanger/quarters and smoke and joke in T-shirts. Felt fine, but also felt a little weird. At +17, like it is at my house, it would be a balmy Spring day

According to my weather station, at 11 this morning it has warmed to a whopping 23. Was 18 this morning and a wind chill of 6. It was 82 yesterday.

The RV is fine. We actually got it winterized yesterday, right when the temps were starting to fall pretty fast. I was unable to figure out how to get antifreeze into the system, but I did entirely drain the water heater, and all the lines and the fresh water tank at the low points underneath the trailer. We have it stored under cover, and more or less out of the wind. I think it will be OK.

Be sure to pour a little of the antifreeze in the p-traps. :thumbs2:

It will have to wait until tomorrow. It's 4:30 pm, and I've already got my jammies back on. :anamatedbanana

The swimming pool pump went out yesterday, so had to drain all equipment until the pump can be replaced.

On Facebook I commented on the cold temperatures in DFW and my cousin from Minnesota chimed in that it was -20 there at 8:30 this morning. He said it was "balmy" here!
It was single digits in St. Louis so needless to say I'm really happy to be in Texas for my first winter and all the ones to come.

Saturday morning my PD had to qualify with our firearms. Thankfully it was warm. I would have hated to been out there this morning. I still need to clean all my firearms. I'll do that this evening while in my pajamas, wearing my heavy armor, watching 13 hours.
