The 1911 must have been very drunk when he hooked up with a Glock to create that thing.

Whoa. MSRP is $ 1,100 (ish)???? I don't think this thing will get much traction at that price. It does have the "ugly baby syndrone". You know how some dogs are so darn ugly, they are cute? Well this aint one of em. Honestly, I would go into it open minded but not for $ 1,100.00

The only place the article said 'plastic', was a negative reference "...compared to alloy...". And how can you compare any firearm to a 1911 when it does not have a hammer?
It may be a fine firearm, but let it stand on it's own merits.
