NFA Challenged by multiple gun groups

Post by rtschl »

Since the NFA is no longer a tax, though some believe it was as bad law and Supreme Court ruling, like the Obamacare "tax"... The NFA is being challenged in court together by many gun rights group. Glad to see this cooperation across so many 2A groups to help defeat this.

Below is a thread by Rod Martin that is well worth the read that includes the history and racism that brought the NFA into existence. The NRA post and image from it are also linked below:

Rod Martin:
7/ Let’s be clear:

🔹 There is no constitutional authority for a national gun registry.
🔹 The NFA is now untethered from any taxing power.
🔹 The ATF has no business enforcing registration of untaxed weapons.

This lawsuit could finally kill the NFA.

This is an important development. I for one welcome fewer restrictions on silencers and SBRs in particular. I'm fine with convicted felons getting extra penalties for possessing or misusing these and other firearms.

Haynes v. United States shows explicitly that the NFA and state registration schemes don't affect criminals.

The NFA is a FDR era law that was always intended to be used against law abiding citizens, much like the GCA68 was literally a NAZI gun law that LBJ intended to use against law abiding citizens in as part of his coup against the Kennedys and democracy in general.

Ron Unz has done the world a great favor with his exhaustive research on the real FDR and hidden WW2 history: American Pravda: President Franklin Roosevelt, the Great Depression, and the New Deal
