I am a Glock guy, I always shoot irons only and and am perfectly happy with that. None of my Glocks have optics cuts. However, I was interested in getting the Glock 19 gen 5 mainly due to the smooth grip. Then I learned of the Glock 19 Gen 5 COA with the Aimpoint COA optics/cut. It seemed interesting. They are currently not available due to Glock fulfilling government agency contracts. But I am not really a red dot on a pistol guy anyway.
Last week I shot a steel challenge with a stock Glock G19 Gen 4 Iron Sight and a guy had a Glock 19 Gen 5 COA. Seeing one in person really made me want to get one to give optics a try. Not to mention a shooting buddy who will not shut up about optics on a pistol. So in the interest of buying a new gun and satisfying people who will not leave me alone, when they become available again I think I will make the Glock 19 Gen 5 COA my next acquisition.

Re: Glock 19 Gen 5 COA
I bought a Glock 19 Gen 5 with the cut for optics, then bought a green dot Holosun sight. This was my first try with optics on a pistol. I am impressed. My groups tightened up considerably with the optic site over other pistols (including Glocks) without them.

Re: Glock 19 Gen 5 COA
I bought a Glock 19 COA a few months ago. I am not sure what to make of it and if I'll keep it or not. I normally carry a full size Glock 17 or 45 and I'm perfectly comfortable with it. When I need something smaller, a Glock 43 or 43x with a comp on it that makes it 48 size.
The good. The 19 COA is solid. The way the optic is milled, it's not going anywhere. And with no plate, it sits low enough that standard height sights are all that are needed. Also I can use my full size frame Glock magazines in a pinch if needed.
The bad. I do really like my Holosun optics with the auto dimming (I'm starting not to use it and have it set to a certain level of brightness) and the sleep awake feature. The COA is always on unless you manually power it off. I switch around to a few guns so it's nice not to have to manually power off optics when they are simply sitting there and I've never had a Holosun fail. Knock on wood.
Next item is not really the fault of the Glock 19 but of just personal preference. I'm perfectly comfortable with a full size Glock 17 or 45. I'm not sure what the 19 gives me that I can't get with my Glock 43x and 15 round Shield Arm magazines. It's dimensionally smaller in every aspect yet gives me the same capacity and frankly, feels more comfortable in my hands. I probably wouldn't want to shoot a 500-700 2 day class with the 43X but never had an issue with 100-150 rounds at range session if I'm splitting time sharing the range with others or shooting other guns.
Might be tempted to sell it if you are interested.
