Glock 19 Gen 5 COA

Post by LSUTiger »

I am a Glock guy, I always shoot irons only and and am perfectly happy with that. None of my Glocks have optics cuts. However, I was interested in getting the Glock 19 gen 5 mainly due to the smooth grip. Then I learned of the Glock 19 Gen 5 COA with the Aimpoint COA optics/cut. It seemed interesting. They are currently not available due to Glock fulfilling government agency contracts. But I am not really a red dot on a pistol guy anyway.

Last week I shot a steel challenge with a stock Glock G19 Gen 4 Iron Sight and a guy had a Glock 19 Gen 5 COA. Seeing one in person really made me want to get one to give optics a try. Not to mention a shooting buddy who will not shut up about optics on a pistol. So in the interest of buying a new gun and satisfying people who will not leave me alone, when they become available again I think I will make the Glock 19 Gen 5 COA my next acquisition.

I bought a Glock 19 Gen 5 with the cut for optics, then bought a green dot Holosun sight. This was my first try with optics on a pistol. I am impressed. My groups tightened up considerably with the optic site over other pistols (including Glocks) without them.
