, you're right; TDL's are good for 6 years. I should have said "changed" to 5 years, not "increased" to 5 years. If TDL's were to remain good for 6 years and the TDL and CHL were combined, then we'd lose the NICS exemption for CHL's.I just renewed my TDL too and was happy to see 2012 on the new one. When I get time, I need to delve into the law on that one. I believe it's the background check portion of the license that must be less than 5 years old. If that's the case, there's no reason (other than politics) why we couldn't switch to the Indiana-style "permit for life", with 5 year background checks.Charles L.
