Yah the good old day's were just that 'good old day's! I still find myself waving at neighbor's and people as I drive through my neighborhood and most of them give me a strange look. I'm almost 44yr's old yet still look like I'm 35yr's old so I think the friendliness freak's people out as they are just not used to it.Liberty wrote:It bothers me because we really have lost something in this country, and most folks aren't really aware of what we have lost.
I am going on the road today again. I think I will try to be a little more neighborly to strangers, No, I won't pick up any hitchhikers, but maybe just a few more friendly greetings.

I think we are more guarded because of the BG's taking advantage of neighborly habits. We are aware of the BGs' actions because of the high volume of information we have blasted at us. I don't think the kindness is lost, just waxes and wanes based on the times. Think back to the late 1800's on the frontier. I think we can strike a more balanced approach by being more friendly to people we meet in resturaunts, kid's league games, etc....Liberty wrote:We are touching on something that has bothered me for quite a while.
we as a society in America have become very suspicious of strangers we don't trust them.
It bothers me because we really have lost something in this country, and most folks aren't really aware of what we have lost.

There has to be a line of where to be neighborly and where to be responsible for my safety and welfare of my family.
