Good Job!, I have two XD's and they are my primary CW's.
Re: XD45 Tactical
I've been researching the various XD models. On the SA website, they don't give the thickness. I guess they're all double stack mags?

For all intents and purposes, they are all the same size except for barrel and/or grip length. One holster (open ended) fits all.ninemm wrote:I've been researching the various XD models. On the SA website, they don't give the thickness. I guess they're all double stack mags?

Congratulations. You will love it. I know I love my .40. I'm hoping they come out with the XDm in .45. Then I will own two XD's.

The 45GAP uses single stack mags.ninemm wrote:I've been researching the various XD models. On the SA website, they don't give the thickness. I guess they're all double stack mags?
There is a very slight increase in the grip circumference in the 45 ACP models.

Re: XD45 Tactical

Your gonna' love your XD Tactical .... and you got it in the right Caliber !!!

Will ya' carry an extra mag. or just the 13 rounder ???
A little heavy for daily carry ( ? ) But.....I'm gonna' carry mine again ... (giving this Kahr CW40, a rest) I just feel safer with the big
XD daddy on my hip.
If ya' see me printing ... it won't be for long. New Belt, new Holster and maybe even a pair of them thar' suspenders .. .. ( just to hold up the waist line of my jeans ! )

Re: XD45 Tactical
I know you will like it! I rotote between my XD 45 service and Kimber Eclipse Pro II for my main carry guns, but always have my XD 9 as my BUG. I can't say enough good things about the XD line of guns. ( as evidenced in my screen name) I'm looking forward to the introduction of the XDm in 45 with great anticipation!

I particularly like the 14+1 rounds of .45 in my 3" Kimber (2 magazines + 1 in the pipe).ml1209 wrote:Yeah .45 is the way to go for me. 13+1 rounds of it makes for a comfortable feeling.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. My bad.

Re: XD45 Tactical
Intentionally defeating a "safety device" can be problematic. It probably won't "hurt the gun" but could be used against you by an over-eager prosecutor if you ever have to use the gun in a defensive situation (somewhat less likely in Texas than in other states).ml1209 wrote:Has anyone done this with their XD?
I put the Hogue slip-on on the grip. I notice that I can permanently depress the grip safety if I inch it up toward the top. If I leave it this way, will it hurt the gun? I kind of like it this way, and the Hogue is very comfortable.
IMHO. YMMV.
