Brassmonkey was telling me one time he was walking out of Wally World one day and the wind blew his shirt up, exposing his gun. Some lady yelled "Oh my God, he has a gun!". Brassmonkey looked at her with a confused look, said "Lady, you're in Texas. Get over it.", and continued on his way.
That was a good come back and one to remember! :smilelol5:

Leaned over to take some things from the trunk, and one of the employees walks up behind me and asks "what are you carrying, a 9mm?" . I carry IWB at 4:00 and had my shirt tail untucked. I turned around and did not know what to say........so, I said no (it is a .45). I asked him why he asked and he said he could see the outline when I bent over. I have carried for almost seven months and never had anyone be the wiser.

Lesson learned!

I would bet real money that the guy who noticed was also carrying. Ie. "it takes one to know one".

That guy had his head ona swivel & was seeing more around him than just your carry weapon.

I started carrying 24-7 in 2001. Since then I have been busted twice. Both were by touch & not site. First that touched it knew what it was because she carried & "knew what it was."
Second gave me a friendly pat on the side & mistook my mags for a gun. Still busted.
Those who recognize a pring usually do due to education.

My .02cents & some think it worth half that.
YMMV

A speedy threadjack: Where is your preferred carry position?
Appendix carry first, if it works for you. Can't have Dunlap's disease to pull it off, but it has a lot going for it tactically.

A 3:00 to 4:00 (right-handed; reverse for left) hip-carry is second. This is the one you can practice at the range and in IDPA. That alone bumps up inherent value. I carry at 3:00-3:30.

Third, cross-draw (right-handed) at 10:30 to 11:30. Again, you need lean abs.

Fourth, I'd go with a shoulder holster.

A very distant fifth is small-of-back. Despite the movies, this is an abysmal place to carry a gun. If a BG is within zero to five feet, fouling your draw is a piece of cake. And if he has an accomplice, you can't do much to defend your gun.

Matter O fact I am a morning person. Awake this morning about 10 minutes before the alarm. (SOP) I get the early shift here for the Mod board & will be loading a work trailer in about 30 minutes. :headscratch Am I missing something?? :headscratch :tiphat:

I've said it before, but what the heck: Choose your carry for function, not comfort. It's too important. If it ain't comfortable initially, you'll get used to it.
Exactly..I carry a Ruger KP944 full-size everyday @ 3:00 IWB. It was terribly uncomfortable the first week or two, but over time-It's not bad at all. Something with a slightly shorter muzzle like an XD-SC or a Beretta PX4-SC would carry better and closer to the appendix area, but funds and availability are keeping me from trying that right now.

I like this one. "It's my colostomy bag." That'll pretty stop them in their tracks and there won't be any more conversation.
 I would either step away or feel bad for asking.
