I took my 13 year old girl to the range today. First time out. When have been going over the commandments for 2-3 weeks. Learning how to operate a semi-auto. Left eye, right eye. All the safeties. Dry firing, unjamming dummy rounds, etc. etc.
She new what she was doing but still a little apprehensive this AM when we loaded up and left.

I packed up everything.
We started on .22, then after a while on that shot a couple of 25acp. She didn't like that one because it is a dangerous gun. So small you can't jack the slide back and check for rounds in the chamber comfortably. I don't like it either but it was part of the progression of caliber. Then we did 9mm. Uh Oh....big bang

, more recoil = scary.
She spent a lot of time at 9mm and I shot .45. Asked her if she wanted to shoot .45 after she became comfortable with 9mm. She was apprehensive but shot it anyway. It wasn't so bad. Matter of fact she liked it better than the 9mm. Less recoil.
Next thing I know, that all she wants to shoot is the .45!

Good thing I brought 2 .45's or I would have been the brass boy all afternoon. To make a long story just a little bit longer.....she loves my .45acp 1911's! Alas, a young lady after my heart, she loves the 1911.

She is 5ft 2in and 100lbs but look out...she can shoot!
Punched a lotta holes and had a good day at the range! She is so proud of herself!
