What I find really ironic is that "South Dallas", which generally means
"the hood" is often times referred to by DJ's on the radio as
"Sunny South Dallas" as if it's come kind of resort mecca!!

CBS reported that the area around the five points intersection is one of the most dangerous areas in Dallas.
Can't possibly be. There's a school on that corner, and everyone knows that by state and federal statute, the zone within 1,000 feet of a school is a sea of peace and tranquility.

I found another report from a Pittsburgh station that the 9th most dangerous neighborhood in the U.S. is at 2nd Ave and Hatcher.
Again, that's impossible. Two blocks in either direction on 2nd, and you run into schools.

But if you go a little further East, you'll be in wonderful Pleasant Grove, all of the crime and only half the genetic diversity.

And if you go to little bit to the west, (is it called Oak Cliff?) you will have 2X the crime, none speak English, I am not sure any of the inhabitants are US Citizens, the rest I am pretty sure are on short vacation from "Iron Castle" of love and peace!

If you were going to walk the streets of South east Dallas, which would be the most preferable to carry: 45 ACP, 357 SIG, 40 S&W or 9mm?

The young lady in the news story states, "I looked over and this car was shooting at me". When cars start shooting people that is trouble indeed.

Only guns, and apparently other inanimate objects, shoot people. People never shoot other people. She didn't get it wrong. Actually, I think this is just indicative of the tendency to anthropomorphize vehicles rather than considering the occupant operating the vehicle. I think that is one reason people drive like barabarians, but that's an aside.

This assumes we don't have a choice in the matter of walking the streets? If it was at night, It would be like The Running Man. I think I'd be more concerned with magazine capacity, and spare mags. :fire

I'll take one of each and could you throw in enough extra mags to get me safely out of Dallas County and over near the Tarrant-Johnson county line where at least the meth lab is not right up against my house when it blows.

That would be a false statement. Most of the "peeps" down there are not registered to vote or are felons. It was more of middle class votes that got "chi chi" into office.

I think that was a racist remark :nono:
