He's not (yet) as big a shooter as the rest of us, so I don't think that was a big concern of his up front. I did warn him, however, of the addictive properties of the trigger.
He says that he intends to put 50 to 100 rounds through it a year, to stay proficient. I chuckled. We'll see. I'll mention the option of slapping a .40 S&W barrel in there to him, I bet he'll appreciate it.
Also, his wife took the class with him, and her license is forthcoming. I'm now on the hunt for an XD Sub-Compact in 9mm for her.
