No problem. They carry a large selection of new guns and a few used ones.
They really should be called Tomball Gun Store.

You should call first to make sure they have what you're looking for.
That Kimber I picked up just came in that day.

I own a 4" XD in 40, and I own a 4" Kimber (Aluminum frame model) so here's my input:
I too am a large guy and have successfully carried both of these concealed (I prefer to carry IWB) however the Kimber is my preferred carry gun for a number of reasons. The first and foremost is that I am more comfortable with the 1911 platform. The second reason is that a .45 makes a bigger hole than the .40, although there is less energy for each round. Regarding the issue of reduced capacity I really don't care about that because I can easily change magazines and should I need more than eight rounds I probably should be doing something besides fighting. With that said I do carry spare magazines but they are more or less carried in case the magazine in the gun fails. My advice, handle and feel the Kimber, shoot one if you can, and buy it if you want it as for excuses for SWMBO tell her the design is nearly a hundred years old and is possibly the most historic and widely adapted auto-loader meaning that parts will always be available.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

If you're close to Alvin, you're not that far from AJC Sports in Clute. That's where my Kimber Pro Carry (4-inch barrel) was purchased. They're also at most of the Houston area gun shows (George R Brown, Reliant Center and Pasadena Convention Center).

AJC generally has a little better prices at the Gun Shows. They go to Pasadena and the George R Brown though.

If you want something slimmer, a friend has a full size S&W M&P 40 and they are bit slimmer than the XD's I think. Not sure about that.

I have a CZ 75 P06 that conceals pretty good.

I have a Kimber Raptor that I do not carry (way to skinny), I carry a KARH MK9...easier to hide. That aside....it is very simple for me.

Kimbers are awesome!! If you can carry one, GET IT. Even if you can't really pull off the conceal, GET IT. They are totally awesome firearms, and you will enjoy shooting them. They cost more for a reason. Beyond all of that, they are just really good looking.

Quit trying to justify it. Can you justify a Porsche 911?? Ferrari??? Buy the Kimber a feel good about it. If the wife complains, blame me. :coolgleamA:
