I remember. As a young man I was transferred to Carlsbad NM for a short. My son was born there. When we returned to Texas he was issued his & I was told to give it to him when he could say, "John Moses Browning got it right the first time."
LT may spin a yarn but he shore dont lie. "rlol"

Yep, just like we say here. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story!

If you decide to get a Texas CHL, make sure you take the class with a good instructor. There are some who teach their fantasy instead of reality, and misinformation can be worse than ignorance.
This will only hurt a little. What comes next, more so.

That is too true. Look at some of the questions newbies post here which should be crystal clear after the class has been taken. Quality instructors are outnumbered by the ones in it for a quick buck.

Remember back when times were good you would be issued one at the welcome center when you entered the state? ;-)
I heard that Illinois is the other way around. If you have a 1911, you have to surrender it when you cross the border into the state.

Pretty much! And to make it worse, I'm coming from CHICAGO. Expensive, small expressways way undersized for the population, horrible taxes.. and the most draconian gun laws in the country.. yeah, (edited Please read the rules. G rated forum.)LT

Then Illinois ships it back to Texas to hand out to the next guy entering -- Its the cycle of life...

HAHA that's a GREAT idea! I'll burn it with my drivers licence. Excellent excuse for a bonfire!
