Dallas man finds burglar stealing guns from his home

Me too, he must not have been very old or he might have had better sense.HighVelocity wrote:I don't think I'd have entered the house. Seriously, I am safe outside, BG inside, no family inside with BG, I'm calling the cops and watching to make sure he doesn't get away.
Young burglar wasn't experienced or he probably would have killed or at least hit the home

I agree with everyone: a very lucky encounter. (And notice how G.C. made no mention of his Forum signature line.

Did you notice at the tail of the story they stated: "In late November, Mr. Anderson was arrested on suspicion of burglary of a habitation. He was released from the Dallas County jail on $2,500 bail."
What a flippin' waste of our tax dollars is this guy? He needed his little five-leaved MJ earrings ripped out in the process, just for good measure. But hey, that's an earlier photo...probably from that long-ago and forgotten suspicion of burglary charge all of 30 days old.
Who knows? Maybe McKinney did rip them out.

Let me go on record saying, I think the home owner is very lucky. I'm glad everyone is OK and got what was coming to them.
FWIW, I'll explain the origin of my signature. It is based largely on a statement made by a guest speaker during the proclamation ceremony for my Dad's retirement from HPD back in 1994. At the time, he'd been one of longest serving officers on the force. Anyway, my Dad arrested this guy when he was sixteen or seventeen years old for vandalizing my parents home. Twenty years later, the guy has a wife, three honor roll kids and a booming business he built from the ground up. So, this guy goes on and on about what a wonderful influence my dad had been on his life. Toward the end, he says, "If Officer Montgomery hadn't taken the time out of his day and cared enough to beat me back then, I wouldn't be where I am today." The city counsel chambers were rolling in laughter for several minutes.

When you take the time out of your day to beat someone, it has a much longer lasting effect on their demeanor than simply shooting or tazing them.

Nuthin'. As long as the guy isn't wearing his matching, diamond-studded, marijuana-leaf earrings after smashing through my front window and trying to steal the wedding ring of my recently-deceased wife. If he's on his own time, not mine, I don't care what he wears in his ears. If I were in McKinney's shoes and delivering the...er, physical tutorial, the marijuana earrings would offend me.casselthief wrote:what've you got against earrings?
Priceless. Thanks for sharing that.G.C.Montgomery wrote:I'll explain the origin of my signature. It is based largely on a statement made by a guest speaker during the proclamation ceremony for my Dad's retirement from HPD back in 1994.

Re: DMN missed their chance....
What!? Can you transcribe that? I would be very interested in reading it and then issuing a complaint, that is just like that one school shooting stopped by the principal who had a gun in his car and the news didnt mention a gun was used to stop it...why is it that because someone has ammo stockpiled they have to me some whack job and besides, how do they know he intended to kill children with it?jbenat wrote:What's really supprising about this article is that The Dallas Morning News didn't refer to the burgal as the victim and the home owner as a crazed gun owner with HUNDREDS of rounds of ammo stockpiled to kill school children.
This kind of thing is irritating, news reports like this is why people fear guns.
Unfortunately, this story probably is more of a negative for the cause. They will try to use it to say that you don't need a gun to defend yourself even against an armed attacker....that guy was just lucky, either that or he is Chuck Norris.

Sounds Like A lot...
Yeah Wheysmart, I have to laugh at news stories reporting that the perc. had "100's of rounds of ammo' stashed away in his house. To the general public it sounds like he is going to try to overthrow the government. We usually take at least 600 rounds of ammo to the range once or twice a month. Heck 22 ammo comes in boxes of 500. We usually buy several 100 round boxes of WWB in several different calibers ranging from 45, 40, 9mm, & 380 and then kinda run low somtimes. Hell, I might have 100 or so laying around on my office floor, just kidding, maybe just 20 or 30.

It is similar with me, one time several boxes of .22 ammo got knocked of a shelf in my room. I have a lot of stuff stored in my closet. (Ammo crates, cleaning supplies, guns in cases etc.) I probably have at least 100 scattered around the floor between boxes and stuff, I get them a few at a time.

Yet another reason why you shouldn't give him a chance to even think about revenge.
