Same reason a folding stock AK is nice. Throw my AK into a tennis racquet bag, or this into a backpack and my neighbors don't know I'm bringing guns in/out of the house when I go to the range.

That and the same reason to buy any random gun ever: Because its cool.

I have two bolt-action .22 rifles. That's probably one more than I need. One is the first gun I ever had, got it from my dad for my eighth birthday and I can't see getting rid of it now that it's stuck with me for 35+ years. The other is a CZ 452 Varmint I use for small bore silhouette competition.

But I've always liked the 10/22, just never got around to getting one.
Always kinda liked that .22 that takes down and fits into the stock too. Another of many things on my wishlist I just never quite got around to getting.
Now this . . . could be the answer to both.

Oh, I suspected as much, but that's what a take-down 22 is worth to me. However, I already have a 10/22 and if I need something that stows in a more compact package, I have a Charger. No big loss.

Would it be any quicker to assemble/reassemble than a standard AR? Push out two pins and the upper & lower come apart 1-2-3.

If I need a stowable gun I have a krink and a mp5k and some other stuff. I don't see when I would ever need a 22 that small??? I think they should make a gun with some testicles break down. A break down .308 would even be great. But whatever. I am not likely their target market.

That is true Apostate. And with a SBR and a m4 stock even smaller than that. I have a 22 AR upper so I guess I have a break down .22 that has never been apart.

AR15. It breaks down into two components. It is more accurate than the Mini 14/Mini 30. And like Ruger's 10/22, it has a MUCH BIGGER aftermarket.

One dealer at the gunshow in Lewisville had one of the new takedown rifles. Can't remember what he was asking for it.

You can take down a standard 10/22 pretty easily. Loosen the barrel band and slide it forward. Loosen the take-down screw on the bottom of the stock and lift the complete barreled action out of the stock.

The differences are the longest piece will be 2-3" longer using this method, and it costs $100 less.

Once the "newness" wears off, I'm betting they'll settle around the 300 range. Not a bad price.
