regardless, you're gonna love it.
Is this done only if the animal is not killed by the shot or done to all game as a symbolic gesture?Beiruty wrote:One major use of the hunting knife (for Muslims) is to relieve the hunted animal by quick stroke at the jugulars and the wind-pipe. A surgical-sharp blade long enough to do the task is a major requirement. I hope the knife would do the job. I stopped by Cabela's and checked out a demo version and the blade was sharp-enough.
Hunting by bullets is an innovation. Late Islamic scholars allowed hunting with bullets (round projectile like that of shotgun and early black gun-powder rifles) instead of arrows and spears (i.e., using sharp blades) as long as if the animal is wounded and hunter is able to approach the animal, the hunter has to quickly relieve the animal as described above. It us understood that it is only needed if the animal exhibits signs of life after being shot.Carry-a-Kimber wrote:Is this done only if the animal is not killed by the shot or done to all game as a symbolic gesture?Beiruty wrote:One major use of the hunting knife (for Muslims) is to relieve the hunted animal by quick stroke at the jugulars and the wind-pipe.
