Baytown wrote:Carrying on the water is a good idea. I carry open when I am on the Trinity. I have some land out there where we are building a duck camp. All three of us carry guns open on the water.

It tends to deter pirates....yarrr! :)

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing...

You know...All those "pirates"...On the high-sea...Loose discipline...All that rum...No women...

But then again, how can I complain...I spent a lot of time at sea myself...

No alcohol...No women (at that time) onboard my ship...

But then again, we sure hit some fabulous ports of call...

"anygun" could concur that...

Whappp!!! What does this have to do with "open carry"??? ugggg...

I dunno...

They didn't let us in many ports o'call. Too many of those nuclear weapons on board. You know the drill, the Navy would never confirm or deny....kind of hard to ignore the 16 missile tube hatches on the missile deck.

I did take a lot of "periscope liberty" though. Can't tell you where. If I told you I would have to kill you. Nyuk nyuk!

We did get to open carry though. :D The Navy is where I learned to love 1911's. We carried nylon stocked M-14's and shotguns too. "Repel boarders!

Couple of reasons we can. All three of us are covered by Tx PC 46.15 (1), plus we own a share of the 2500 or so undivided acres, and thirdly, it is a different world out there in the marsh.

It is quite funny to see the three of us with our Rugers and western rigs going down the river in a boat. (horses don't swim that far)

I think there could be an argument made for a person out there on the water around his land as there are tons of pigs. Would 46.15 b (4) apply if the person was in a boat looking for pigs and planned on beaching the boat and shooting them?

Only two types of ships...submarines and targets.

Another goodun that is sure to draw flames...The only good marine is a submarine. :P
