ATF wants to ban military style shotguns

Post by pmcdn »

Since when did the ATF get to decide what guns we should/shouldn't have?

Didn't something like this come up a year or so ago, inflating the Saiga prices?

I found the ATF document, but the deadline for comment was May 1, 2011.

So by now, there should have been something announced.

They probably had to change their focus to covering up for F&F and the "Idiot in Chief" so they are too busy to fool with this nonsense for now.

...they began this initiative in Jan 2011 (again)...it being bandied about now seems to be for sure a smokescreen...

The NRA took care of squashing this. It was one of 12 points the NRA got passed and signed into law last fall.

It's all cyclical...just wait. Give it a couple of weeks and *someone* will post that USAToday poll from 2007. :lol:

Best of my knowledge, Virginia Govt in 1857 started working on the "Hunting/Sporting use" justification/requirement..Gun Control people used it BATF adopted it later and in 1968 they went bonkers...and Americans let them viewtopic.php?f=94&t=55447#p678444" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Wonder if these old soldiers would be lumped in with the evil military style shotguns... :evil2:

Germans sure didn't like them in WWI (to the point of raising a formal complaint) and the US Army liked em enough to keep em around for several more conflicts.

(and no, I only wish the pair were mine. I'll end up with a 520 eventually that is my Dads, but I'm in no hurry to get it from him.)
