Best of my knowledge, Virginia Govt in 1857 started working on the "Hunting/Sporting use" justification/requirement..Gun Control people used it BATF adopted it later and in 1968 they went bonkers...and Americans let them viewtopic.php?f=94&t=55447#p678444" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Wonder if these old soldiers would be lumped in with the evil military style shotguns...

Germans sure didn't like them in WWI (to the point of raising a formal complaint) and the US Army liked em enough to keep em around for several more conflicts.



(and no, I only wish the pair were mine. I'll end up with a 520 eventually that is my Dads, but I'm in no hurry to get it from him.)
