I like this one also. Though it is not Texas oriented it seems to be a good group of folks on it and the info is usually sound.

Not Texas but a goodun.

Anygunanywhere
I might have had a uniquely bad experience there?

I found it cluttered, difficult to navigate, filled with foul language, overrun with immaturity, and far too welcoming of mean-spirited posts.

In fact, my experience there convinced me that this is the only gun forum I need.

I was just browsing the defensivecarry site, they have an awesome thread showing people's concealment. Great way to see how various holsters look/work.

I started coming here before I got my CHL to get info. I just stayed because there's a bunch of decent people here and it's an overall "clean" place.

As an addition to forums, just curious as to how many folks here would be interested in "live" chat? Does anyone here on the forum know what MIRC is, and if so does anyone use it? It is chat in real time and you can stay logged on around the clock and see past and present live chatting. Anyone interested? I think it would be fun. This in no way would take away from the forum here.

Thats the one I was referring to. I found it filled with some great carry options. There are some duplicate posts.

We had a live chat room that we trialed for awhile. Wasn't used hardly at all so was not worth maintaining.

It's been years since I lurked on Glock Talk and found it informative, (Hey,I'm a Glock guy) but also quite cliquish - perhaps that's no longer so..., but it was my reason for not registering and visiting there any longer.

First, agree totally that Charles and friends run a well oiled machine here and it's always good for something new and interesting. But all of us need relief from time to time and I find it at bayoushooter.com and glocktalk. Bayou, as you might suspect is in Louisiana and manages to fulfill every expectation of Cajun stereotype you could expect.
If you're a reloader, Cast Boolits castboiolits.gunloads.com is king of the hill.
If you want to be flamed, insulated or downright challenged to a fist-fight, Texas guntalk will supply your every need.

It's a great site. Moderators can be somewhat "police-ish" though. Like to often slap the wrists of posters, and rarely make sense in doing so.
