Very encouraging Keith. I had heard about this on the radio earlier today, but hadn't seen a link to it yet.

Would it be a good idea to email this story to some of our policy makers in D.C and Texas?

Wow! What would help most in preventing large scale shootings in public? Number one answer: More permissive carry policies for civilians.

Of course, policy makers and administrators NEVER listen to the professionals....

That's because the emphasis on gun control is control and not reducing violence or deaths. As far as listening to professionals, that never happens either as you said. If it did, instead of personally looking at pictures to determine what to ban, politicians would at least have taken advice from law enforcement, military, firearms instructors, etc. on what types of weapons were most dangerous, if a ban would have any effect, etc. As it is, Congress has a steady flow of "experts" testifying on numerous issues all the time, except on the subject of guns. There they all seem to be expert enough to make up their own minds.

The survey is irrelevant to the gun grabbers since the only valid opinions from law enforcement are those spouted by the obama boot lickers in the chief ranks.

As has been pointed out on other forums, the way this survey was conducted makes it not-valid. Although the results are most certainly encouraging and it's great to see 15,000 officers respond to such a survey, the survey methodology is irreparably flawed. I would like to believe we'd see fairly similar results from a properly conducted survey, but so far it's not been done. We would risk credibility to hold these results up as statistically correct.

Yes, I know, that's never stopped the anti's. :banghead:

That said... This one was my fave...
