I have always posted in defense of free market principles but these guys are pushing the envelope for sure! I cannot believe anyone would buy at those prices when the same stuff is readily available elsewhere.

When I was in the store last, I asked about the gouging and was told the CTD that is mail order is the one gouging and is a separate entity from the storefront which does not gouge. He seemed downright annoyed that people come in and gripe at him for stuff the mail order company does. The mail order operates out of the same building. :headscratch Was this a family or a partnership that had a falling out?

Sadly enough when supply catches up with demand and CTD is selling bulk ammo "below market value cheap" people will still buy. There's always a customer if the price is cheap. I still wonder if there's a possibility they will rename the operation after the smoke clears and announce "under new ownership"

Hey it's America... land of the disposable dollar and freedom (good and bad) to choose your bullet dealer. I will do my best to give my business to anyone other than CTD if they have a fair price if it's within a reasonable price range. But if by some oddball chance CTD starts selling XM855 for a ridiculous price of $150 bucks per thousand and free shipping.... I'm going to be a Judas and buy as much as I can. If my LGS can come within a reasonable price, then I will certainly try to deal with him first. Some may not agree but I'm at least honest.

and that is why they do it... because they can... Not agreeing with them or disagreeing about anyone making their own decisions to buy now or in the future....

Personally the prices are laughable but I know better than to pay them... lots of people don't... I shop on principle and this one pushes my envelope.. but it's my decision and I don't expect others to have to agree....

I fully expect that the majority of people will go back as soon as they put their prices back. They've already tested the waters and proven it to be the case in 08/09. Time will tell if people come running back again but if I was betting on it I would go all in that the majority do. And they obviously have made the same bet.

And to be honest even right now they are still selling enough to make it worth keeping the prices high. fact is people are still paying the price even as ridiculous as it is.

Same thing happened after they did this in 2008/2009. Up until now, the place was packed and everyone I talked to were squawking about what great prices they had. Funny. They know the public has a short memory.

Just got an email ad from them selling Colt 6920's...for $2595. Unbelieveable. Clyde Armory sells the same rifle for $1199 and they have new stock several times a week.
That was it for me. I asked to be dropped from their mailing list.
Then I got home to a CTD catalog - All the guns and ammo had no prices - call or visit website for latest pricing.
Seriously?
Why did you even bother sending out the catalog - I trashed it.
