As far as movie weapons go, the Blade Runner blaster that Harrison Ford's character uses throughout the film has to be my all time favorite in terms of design flow and the perfect mix of sci-fi and realism.
This gun was originally based off of 2 guns. A Charter Arms .44 Bulldog and a Steyr rifle (not sure of the model). It was then spiffed up with various parts, lights, etc.
Through my contacts with this group of prop collectors, I was made aware of a small team of enthusiasts that just released a very limited number of kits to build a very accurate replica of this gun with expertly crafted parts. This will NOT be a working replica, unfortunately. Although I could easily substitute a real Bulldog frame and make it a shooter, that's not what this project is about. Rather, this will be a glorified paper weight to sit in a display case and admire.

For those of you unfamiliar with this gun, here are a few pictures from the film, of the actual screen-used prop, and of other replicas.
I should be receiving the kit hopefully this week and I will try to document the progress. Hopefully, this will be at least somewhat entertaining to most of you.
