Reminds me of the cartoon .. was it Daffy Duck on the BOMB assembly line with the mallet checking for duds by hitting them?

I dunno how much heat it would take or what kind of bit. I do know that I won't be doing this trick at any of my parties.KD5NRH wrote:Except that brass is soft, and cartridge casings are relatively thin. The bit would have to be rally dull to heat up that much before it punched through.03Lightningrocks wrote:I am no expert on powder but I don't think it would have to spark. The tip of a drill bit can get pretty darned hot and at the point it penetrates the brass, air combined with the extreme heat of the bit, might just be enough to do it. I have watched drill bits get so hot they start smoking.

No kidding... some people's common sense just defies logic... why not use a bullet puller then reseat the bullet... much easier.03Lightningrocks wrote:I dunno how much heat it would take or what kind of bit. Just squirt a little WD40 on it.
It will kill the primer and neutralize the powder....
At least that's what the experts tell you

Oh I know you were not serious from the rolling eyes smiley. Just pointing to a test where they basically proved what you were facetiously purporting.Rex B wrote:Rex points Keith to all the smileys in the above post.
